Why Feed the Foothills?

According to FeedingAmerica.org, almost 15% of families in Polk County and upper Spartanburg County are already ‘food insecure’… going without meals providing basic nutrition, due to lack of income or tradeoffs to meet housing or health expenses. Our caring community has an opportunity to act – TOGETHER WE CAN Feed the Foothills!

Because with YOUR help, families don't have to suffer food insecurity.

The numbers are even worse for children: nearly one-fifth are affected by food insecurity. In the coming months, SNAP (food stamp) qualification guidelines will be tightened and evictions and/or power cutoffs may increase, making food insecurity an even bigger hardship.

GOOD NEWS! Feeding America has declared this September “Hunger Action Month”. Thermal Belt Outreach, Operation Hope, Steps to H.O.P.E., Pop-Up Pantry and Roseland Community Center are equipped to provide food to those in need, but they must have our help to collect more canned food and donations to widen their reach. Saturday, September 24th will allow us all to “Feed the Foothills” and celebrate with a benefit concert at the Harmon Field Music Festival.

How can your business get involved?

Event Sponsors and Raffle Prize Donors are needed to make “Feed the Foothills” a major success. Every component of Saturday, September 24th needs generous support to encourage donations of food and money – while maximizing the impact of Harmon Field Music Festival activities.

The day comes alive with a benefit concert with great music and exciting raffle prizes!

Food-insecure families in the Foothills are depending on all of us. Your support makes all the difference!
